Freshly caught right outside the San Francisco Bay, Local California Halibut is a seasonal favorite. Halibut is a lean fish with mild, sweet tasting white flesh, large flakes and a firm but tender texture. Our halibut comes already filleted with the skin on to retain moisture when cooking. Delicious grilled, broiled, pan-fried or battered & deep fried with your favorite seasoning. Halibut is full of nutrients, including niacin, magnesium, phosphorous, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, and potassium.
Local California Halibut is picked up fresh from the Berkeley Marina or the San Francisco harbor and delivered to your door. This product is RAW upon delivery and must be maintained at a temperature of 40 degrees fahrenheit. Keep it sealed and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook or marinate. Halibut filets should be cooked or put in the freezer within 2 days of delivery. Since halibut is a lean fish, cooking it after it has been frozen will cause it to become drier faster, so please adjust cooking times accordingly. See Handling Instructions for more details.
Price is per pound. Quantity amount is defined in pounds (selecting Qty: 2 means you wish to purchase 2 pounds). Depending on how much you purchase and how large the fish is, your order may come as one whole piece or cut into two or more filets. 1 pound minimum purchase.
